There are many programs on the internet today that claim to fix problems with your PC, make your PC run faster, and make your PC run smoother, but do they really?
We encourage you to stay away from these programs at all costs, and we’ll tell you why.
Most of the software online that claims to make your computer a better one, only indeed makes it worse or an inoperable one. We constantly see our customers having severe problems with their computers after they have downloaded a program that was supposed to actually help them.
Alright, We Get It, But Why?
These programs tend to take up a lot of power themselves just to simply run on your computer due to the developer of the program not being a good one (this is usually the case). So now you’ve installed this program that’s supposed to run and do all of these things, but all of a sudden your computer’s slower because the program itself isn’t well-made.
The second reason is that a majority of the applications out there that claim to fix your computer’s problems, make your PC run faster, smoother, and better actually fiddle with things such as the registry (think of this as the brain of your computer) and other extremely volatile and important areas/files that only a true expert should venture into. One wrong move in these areas, and it could be a fatal blow to a program or your computer as a whole.
Another reason to stay away from these types of applications is because they can also be viruses. We’ve seen these types of programs quite a bit and they can be very brutal. Recently, a customer of ours had assumed a program was going to improve the speed of their computer, but instead, it was a terrible, terrible virus which corrupted and damaged many applications on their computer which all took hours upon hours to repair.
One last reason to avoid these types of applications and developers is fraud. We see our customers paying for these applications that are supposed to help them, but instead, they are taking their money and stealing their card number and personal information. It’s terrible and that’s why you need to be weary of the companies you trust online as well as what software and developers you trust.
LiveCare recommends that you only download software from companies that you know of (more on this in a later blog post) and that you try not to repair a computer yourself unless you have experience and a full understanding of what you are doing.
We really thank you for taking the time to read this blog post!
